naming request
Feb. 22nd, 2009 04:38 pmOK, assembled readers, we've got a question for you all.
klingonlandlady and I are in need of a name to use for our duo silks performances. Some recent photos of same appear in the following lj entries: here and here
We used "The Fabulous Flying Frobozzniks" once, but while that was OK for the first duo routine we did a ways back, it is totally not suitable for what we are doing now. Since I'm not very good at coming up with such things, i'm going to ask the time honored LJ Friends Oracle for suggestions.
What should we call ourselves?

Date: 2009-02-23 12:28 am (UTC)So are there people who do what you want to do,
and if so, is there some common flavor in what they call themselves?
(hairdressers often use joke/pun names, lawyers almost always use human names, metal bands use things that sound dark and broody)
Location names can be useful. "Westford Air" (or "Air Westford"), "Silk 128", "Boston Skyline".
Starting names with the letter A can be useful in some circumstances; you get top billing anytime things are listed alphabetically.
I also like to make up words. And doing that helps find available domains.
It's good if you can find sounds that evoke a sense of what you want to convey. Acura and Compaq are both composed names. This, however, makes conveying the spelling more difficult, and for people who probably want word of mouth, this would be a lose.
I will not suggest "Aerial Rumpus". I would suggest "Madcap Aerials", except that what you do tends to be more sensual than bouncy. And the word Aerial gives me some hesitation; I'll bet a lot of people can't spell it.

That said, I like Aerialchemy best thus far. Since you seem to be spinning silk into gold.
