Ex FTP Software people reading this may remember occasional conversations about "the rat and raised floor" model of networking. Well, check this out. Someone just implemented it, in a really nifty way!

That is interesting. I bet people wouldn't have been quite as helpful if the thing didn't have the friendly smiley-face on it.

I was thinking the same thing. I want to try the experiment again, except this time with two robots - a smiling one and a frowning one.

It sounds like a high-tech version of Milgram's "lost letter" experiment. In the experiment, he intentionally abandoned stamped letters on the sidewalk to see if someone would pick up the letter and place it in a mailbox.

Another part of the experiment was using different addresses for the destination. A higher percentage of letters addressed to a medical research center got placed in mailboxes than those addressed to Nazi and Communist parties.
