All those cables and connectors I mentioned in my last post. This project is far enough along at this point to mention it here. Here's a video of the side hobby project i've been working on off and on over the last couple of years.

Nice! Glad to see that the gecko has become part of the design :-).

And now I'm thinking of a Burnersetter, scaled appropriately.

When you told me about the project at Arisia I had an insufficient idea of just how involved it would be to build. (Clearly, because after seeing the video, all I had for the first few minutes was monosyllables.)

That is extremely, extremely cool.

OK, that's completely awesome. Do I assume correctly that it's a reasonable analog of how a real pinsetter works?

I'm currently building my own longstanding-mechanical-system-obsession project, a gondola lift in Lego, but it's much further from completion.

Once you think about it, it doesn't seem so insane. It's got a lot less moving parts to break than a typical software project.

You are an odd, and yet terribly nifty, man.

Also, my father had a job as a pinsetter when he was young. Please do not make a .262 working copy of him. Thank you.

That's amazing, buddy. When you make the next video, time the cuts to land on the music beats ;) (haha, I have no criticisms of the pinsetter because it's a work of art)
