Many of us are switching offices around at the workplace. All the salesfolk from the first floor are merging with us on the third to save space and lease costs. This is causing many of us to have to move office locations. Including Me. The move is tomorrow, and due to switching projects at the same time, i've been in nonstop meetings for the last 5 days. I'm just starting to pack things into The Orange Crates.

*Jeezus H*, theres a lot of shit in here. I've heard that there are various groups trying to create ultra-small black holes in the lab. On any other day, i'd think this was a stupid idea. Today, i'd want to borrow one.

What, um, do they think they're going to do with one if they create it?

i dont know. i just hope that somehow the math says that it will go away on its own. If it takes some of the cruft from my office with it, so be it.

Yeah, that. First thing I thought of when I saw the news article was, "Hmm, that didn't work out so well in James Hogan's "Thrice Upon A Time" story.".

The world will not end with a bang or a whimper, but you're going to hear this giant sucking sound, see...

i suppose whether the mini black holes are useful depends on whether you can retrieve in an intact form objects which you put into them... of course, sometimes you might deliberately not want them intact.

Got any giant plants that you need to cut back to get out of your office this time?

One. the tropical spikey thing is going to be cut back and re-rooted. evrything else i think i can handle without trimming. Monster Begonia used to be the real hassle, but it finally died off from some begonia-specific virus a few years ago, at the ripe old age of 20 or so.

man, i wish. They're already used to my oddities enough that i don't think they would even look twice if i hung a silk in there.

I had an office with a >20' ceiling once. In area it was about 10'x15'. I called it my elevator shaft.
